Work out and play on the family trainer Wii mat

For those who are wondering how anybody can manage to look so terrifically happy jumping on a weird-looking mat, join the club! Okay, first thing first, let’s find out why this cute (right guys?) girl is jumping on the mat in the first place.

This isn’t just a mat. It’s a game. Yes, you heard me right. This game, Family Trainer, can be traced back to the Nintendo Famicom in 1986. Drawing inspiration from Konami’s DDR Handbook, Bandai Namco games came up with this exercise game that is supposed to keep your whole family in shape while you enjoy mini-games like log jumping, canoning, mountain ‘sliding’, whack-a-mole, waterfall climbing and a Temple of Doom-style train ride.

What? So many games? In this little mat with a total of six squares of two different colors, two circles and a positive and a negative sign (what are those for?)? Can somebody show me the moles to whack or the mountains to slide down. And do let me know how many of your family members agreed to jump up and down this mat with you. In any case, if I want to get in shape, I’d prefer to go for a walk instead.
