Rotgutonix – A device that tells if liquor is adulterated, or not

Just by shaking the bottle, some people make assumptions if the liquor in there is adulterated or not. I don’t know the philosophy behind it, they say that more the bubble retention the better the liquor is supposed to be. It’s convincing but not convincing enough! Anyway, after two pegs down it’s all fair and square. I don’t advise carrying a gadget each time you walk into a pub, for that it will make you suspicious, but you do have a choice.

The Rotgutonix, though still a prototype, is a small handheld device that can detect adulterated alcohol. Presently compatible with only five brands (JB, Johnny Walker, DYC, Habana Club, Brugal and Pampero), it has a display that notifies the user if its 100% the brand or rotgut (adulterated).
